Indore, the financial capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh, is among 100 Indian cities to be developed as a smart city. Indore is ranked as ‘India's Cleanest City’ for seven years in a row as per Swachchh Bharat Sarvekshan for the consecutive years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The past and present of this city are woven with a great grandeur. In 1720s the Holkars took control of Indore state when Malhar Rao Holkar established the dynasty to rule over Indore. Since then Indore witnessed great leadership with Holkar Dynasty. Indore is the commercial capital of Central India with Large, Medium and Small scale industries ranging from Automobiles to Pharmaceutical and from Petroleum Refineries to Textile. Major industrial areas surrounding the city include Pithampur known as Detroit of MP, Sanwer Industrial Belt, Laxmibai Nagar, IT Park, Electronic Complex etc. The city is honored of having third oldest stock exchange in Central India. National Stock Exchange has now established an Investor Service centers in the city. The city also hosted Global Investors' Summit to provide a platform to collaborate with investors from several countries. Companies such as TCS, INFOSYS etc. officially started their development centers in Indore. The city is the heart for all sorts of health care institutions and education sectors of the country. Indore is the only city in India to house both, Indian Institute of Technology and Indian Institute of Management.

Being one of the growing centers of the country, Indore has a well laid transport network enabling people to travel within the city and outside with great ease. International airport connected Indore with the corners of the world. Indore has also been crowned as the 'Street Food capital' of the country. The delicacies of local snacks as well as sweets of Indore are famous all over the country. MHOW located near Indore, is amongst the major Military Headquarters of India to control important aspects of Training and Controls of Indian Army. India's most important Atomic Research Centre, Raja Raman Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), a unit of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, is situated in Indore. Asia's Biggest Metal Statue of Hanumanji is located at Pitra Parvat, Indore.

Ujjain: ‘Navel of the Planet Earth’

Ujjain is situated at a distance of nearly 56 km from the Indore airport and is also well connected by road and railways. It is also one of the holy cities of India which is situated at a unique geographical location from where tropic of cancer passes which also represents the ‘Mean Time’ of India for Panchanga- India’s traditional calendar. The Tropic of Cancer passes through Ujjain and that the prime meridian of longitude also passes through Ujjain. Ujjain, a brilliant silver of Heaven on Earth is claimed to be the 'Navel of Planet Earth.
